A Century of Song

A Century of Song

Harrogate Operatic Players are to bring their own inimitable brand of entertainment to the stage of the refurbished Royal Hall during its opening month in May 2008. The society performed annual musicals at this venue from 1946 to 2002. How fitting it is therefore, that the Players are privileged to be one of the first amateur companies to perform at the Royal Hall following its multi-million pound restoration. In joyous celebration of the type of entertainment that has thrilled a century of audiences, the Players will perform the slick routines that have made its Showtimes, and more recently its Serenades, the sell outs for which they have now become famous. A brief history of the Royal Hall shows that The Players will be following an array of world famous performers which include The Beatles, Petula Clark & Tommy Steele. From Thursday 8th May to Saturday 10th May 2008 Harrogate Operatic Players will present "A Century Of Song" in celebration of these illustrious performers and the genres of music and theatre seen at the hall from the 1900s to 2000s.

A Century of Song will run at The Royal Hall, Harrogate from Thursday 8th May at 7:30pm to Saturday 10th May 2008 at 7:30pm with a matinee on Saturday at 2:30pm. For tickets please call: 01423 528435 or Harrogate International Centre Box Office on: 0845 130 8840
